Here\u2019s some information to help shed light on what all the fuss is about!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>What is the NLI?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. With the agreement, a prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year (two semesters) and the institution agrees to provide athletic financial aid for at least one academic year (two semesters). If a student-athlete does not fulfill the NLI agreement, he or she has to serve one year in residence (full-time, two semesters) at the next NLI member institution and lose one season of competition in all sports.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>What are the signing dates for Prospective Student-Athletes Enrolling in 2018?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> All sports, including golf, can have an early signing period from November 8-15, 2017. The regular signing period is from April 11 &#8211; August 1, 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Who are the Prospects Who May Sign an NLI? What needs to accompany the NLI?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to sign an NLI, a high school or preparatory school prospective student-athlete must first register with the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NCAA Eligibility Center<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and complete the amateur certification request. A prospective student-athlete must be one who will be attending a four-year institution in the fall for the first time as a full-time student. Any NLI must be accompanied by a financial aid agreement from the institution. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Don\u2019t worry if you haven\u2019t signed during the Early signing period. <\/b>Recruiting continues until the day school starts in August!
