I\u2019m a Finance major and I\u2019m minoring in Marketing. I recently became a member of the FAU All-Academic Team, recognizing athletes for high GPAs. I\u2019ve been playing golf since I was 14 years old. My brother and dad got me into the game and I fell in love with it.<a href=\"https:\/\/gilchristgolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/unnamed.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8860 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/gilchristgolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/unnamed.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"329\" height=\"166\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you love about being a college athlete and how did GGGA prepare you for the experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve always been competitive. I consistently compete with myself to do better, so being a student-athlete fuel my competitive nature. GGGA prepared me to take care of myself, I learned life skills and self-management. I was ready for college life because I came in disciplined due to my training at GGGA. Although college has challenged me differently in academics and in golf, my focus has remained the same.&nbsp; While I was at GGGA I learned what the game of golf is truly about &#8211; respect and traditions. You can have an incredible golf game but it\u2019s really the way you treat people that lasts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice can you give to junior golfers? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GGGA provides unique opportunities that are truly focused on the student.&nbsp; You are given all the tools you need to succeed but it is important for <a href=\"https:\/\/gilchristgolf.com\/programs\/\">junior golfers<\/a> to remember that even with the most elite training, you\u2019re not going to excel unless you put in the effort and determination to build an excellent work ethic. I reached my goals at GGGA by trusting the process and trusting my coaches.<a href=\"https:\/\/gilchristgolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/unnamed-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8859 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/gilchristgolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/unnamed-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"283\" height=\"425\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you reach your goals? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you want to be successful &#8211; set goals and keep your vision in the forefront at all times. If you have that vision &#8211; make sure every decision moves you closer to your goals. Every swing, every drill and every meal you have can get you one step closer to where you want to be. You will have ups and downs, but accept them and move forward the best you can. Trust the process and not only will you improve your golf game but you\u2019ll become a better person for it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why do you think GGGA Alumni should come back to work with their former coaches<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve come back to train a few times and I\u2019m glad for it every time.&nbsp; College is a time where you get to learn about yourself and figure out who you are, but it\u2019s also a time filled with distractions and trying to balance social, academics and athletics.&nbsp; It can be tough, but being able to return to GGGA so you can experience the old routines and the memories of your training is refreshing.&nbsp; It reminds you of your goals in the game of golf, which is inspiring and motivating.
