That all Gilchrist coached final at the LPGA State Farm Classic is looking like even more of a possibility.
Shanshan Feng and world No. 1 Yani Tseng backed up a great start to the event by going even lower Friday. Feng fired a 7-under 65 and Tseng recorded a 66 as the two currently sit tied for second at 11-under-par, two back of Mindy Kim at 13-under.
Morgan Pressel, who is T9, is right there with them at 7-under at Panther Creek Country Club.
Not to mention, Karen Stupples and Sophie Gustafson are also in the top 16 as of 3:30 p.m. Friday. Stupples and Gustafson are both at 5 under overall and at 2 under on the day.
Seven Gilchrist coached pros finished under par in the first round – with six in the top 20 – at the Springfield, Ill., event.
