Gary Gilchrist Reveals His Picks for Top 5 U.S. Golf Destinations

Gary Gilchrist, world-renowned golf coach and founder of namesake, Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, introduced today his top five picks for golf destinations this year. Whether enthusiasts want to plan a leisurely golf getaway or head out for a corporate retreat, Gilchrist’s list has it covered.

“I’ve played many courses throughout my career both in the United States and across the globe,” said Gary Gilchrist, founder of the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy. “This list highlights five of my all-time favorite U.S. golf destinations, each offering its own unique experience.”

Topping off the list at number one is, you guessed it, Pebble Beach Golf Links, located in sunny Pebble Beach, California. The legendary course is surrounded by breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, making it a bucket list trip for the avid golfer. Often described as the “golf experience of a lifetime,” Pebble Beach is an all-around winner.

Coming in at the number two spot is Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Known for its rugged coastline and beautiful lakefront setting, Whistling Straits has hosted many prestigious PGA events and is consistently ranked as one of the top must-play courses. Its natural beauty draws in eager golfers from all over the world, and with summer here, now is the perfect time to visit!

Kiawah Island Golf Resort makes the list at number three. Located on a gorgeous barrier island just a short drive from Charleston, South Carolina, this golf paradise is brimming with southern hospitality. Pristine beaches and hidden lagoons bring out the romantic golfer in all. The famed Ocean Course, although one of the toughest out there, is a challenge that should be eagerly taken on by golf fanatics.

Gilchrist puts TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida at the number four spot. Famous for its signature 17th hole, known colloquially as the “Island Green,” this celebrated course is home to the PGA Tour Headquarters and annually hosts The Players Championship. The great Florida weather coupled with prime green conditions make playing this course the ultimate golfing experience.

Finishing off the list at number 5 is Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon. Bandon Dunes boasts generous fairways and challenging holes, a true links course not to be missed. With five unique courses featuring more than a dozen holes that run along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, Bandon Dunes offers golfers a true Pacific Northwest golf experience.
