GGGA Alice Jo couldn’t have played a more perfect final round at the HJGT Academy Cup.
Jo, fired a 7-under 65 to win the Girls 15-18 Division at the 2nd Annual HJGT Academy Cup. Jo, 15, of China, struck for five birdies on the front nine to turn in 31 and added birdies on holes 11 and 12 to secure the five-shot win among juniors from the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, IJGA, Core Golf Academy, Club Med, Mike Bender, Eagles Dream and Saddlebrook academies.
To start the final round, Jo led by just one shot after a 3-under 69 in the first round. In all, Jo tallied 12 birdies in securing her third win of 2015.
Subsequently, Alice Jo continued her streak of stellar play in final rounds at the IMG Junior at Rio Pinar. Jo fired a bogey free 5-under 67 at Rio Pinar Country Club to win by one after trailing by three going into the final round.
Jo is in her second year attending the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy in the Full-Time Junior Program and school at the Montverde Academy. Prior to GGGA, Jo made claim as the USGA’s final U.S. Women’s Public Links Championship when she took the title in 2014.
