Team GGGA Competes with South American Nations

This past weekend, from January 30th to February 1st, the International Junior Championship “Alianza del Pacífico 2018” took place in Lima, Peru where a Team from GGGA was invited to compete.

The tournament featured several junior divisions. The best junior players from Peru as well as delegations from Panama, Chile, Mexico and Ecuador participated. GGGA was invited to this great event and sent a team of three junior golfers, represented by Nicole Lu, Alexandre Liu and Kenneth Thu.

It was a great experience for our students.  Many previous students in our Full-time and Custom Training programs were in attendance and competed, they included Alejandro Madariaga, Catalina Pastene, Christian Munoz, Florencia Dufey, Daniela Ballesteros and Cristobal Sepulveda who won his division (15 years and under) shooting 4 under for the tournament.

Team GGGA had a great final round, as a team they scored 1 under to finish 3rd, 3 strokes from the leader. They all played great, Kenneth had tough back nines finishing 5 over, Alexandre improved significantly shooting 1 over and Nicole was great shooting the lowest score of the day (2 under). They all finished top 10 while Nicole finished top 5 in the general leaderboard.

GGGA is proud to support the growth of golf in Peru and Latin America and congratulates all the winners and special thanks must be extended to Country Club de Villa and its Board of Directors for hosting the GGGA Team.  GGGA plans to participate again in 2019.
