At GGGA, we wish you help each student in the Post Graduate Program reach their full potential. Technical training is one of the 5 areas of focus at GGGA as we are dedicated to creating champion golfers. Students build confidence working on proven drills and strategies and utilize the latest in 3-D and 2-D swing analysis technologies to identify any technical areas for improvement in the swing and short game.
All training sessions are carried out at our world-class facilities, and each athlete’s level of progress and performance is closely monitored by our team of certified coaches. Technical phase specifics will vary depending on each student’s individual needs and focuses on all areas of the game.
Start of term assessments help the GGGA team and each student in the Post Graduate Program learn more about each student’s strengths and areas for improvement as well as their personality and learning style. Based on the information we find in the student assessments, coaches are assigned to each student to fit their learning style.
Students work with their coaches to create short term, semester and year-long technical training goals. Once goals are established, a plan is set for each student to achieve those goals. Our coaches are all well trained instructors and experienced golfers dedicated to applying sports psychology, strategy, and proper technical instruction to each of our junior golfers.
Students are initially assessed to find areas for improvement and work through their individual development plans with their coach through drills on full swing, short game and putting. The cycle of learn, prepare, perform is the foundation with the goal of reaching optimal performance during competition.
Students train in small groups with a lead coach and work through their individual development plans. The group training environment provides the perfect platform for competition and give students the ability to push each other to make progress.
Coaches and students stick to their plan with a systematic approach, making sure all points are addressed and changes are made when needed. Each athlete is coached to become their own coach and to recognize when they need adjustments mentally, physically or technically.
By utilizing Gary Gilchrist’s innovative motion drills and corresponding fitness elements, students are guided to self-correct issues. These drills teach the athlete to build confidence while playing by instantly showing a difference; knowing they have the ability to work through a challenge is paramount to playing like a champion.
