Students Begin Spring Semester with Fitness Assessments

At the start of each new semester at the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, before any weights are lifted, before any golf-specific fitness training is done, students at GGGA are put through a series of tests that measure flexibility, mobility and strength, among other areas.

With the help of golf fitness experts Body Balance for Performance, students in the Full-time Junior Program were put through a series of tests this week that assessed their fitness levels so a training program could be put into place for them for the spring semester.

Students cycled through stations doing push-ups and agility and coordination drills as GGGA and Body Balance’s team of fitness trainers recorded data so progress can be analyzed throughout the semester.

With the beginning stages of each student’s fitness training in place, students will begin work right away on improving their fitness.
