Gilchrist to Host Clinic at AJGA’s Montverde Invitational

Gary Gilchrist has taught some of the best juniors and pros in the world.

World No. 1 Yani Tseng is among Gilchrist’s most recent students to have soared to extreme heights in just two years time. Morgan Pressel and Morgan Hoffmann are among several young budding stars who have also saught Gilchrist’s coaching and guidance.

On Friday, Gilchrist will share his love and knowledge for golf with the game’s next crop of young stars at the Montverde Invitational. The tournament is the annual year-ending event that gathers the AJGA’s Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series’ best players from the throughout the series’ 10 events.

Gilchrist will host a Q&A and demonstration for all in attendance Friday afternoon at Bella Collina Golf Club in Montverde, Fla., home of the 2011 edition of the Montverde Invitational.

Gilchrist has coached many AJGA champions and most recently coached Tseng to four LPGA majors and 13 overall victories in the last two years.

Notable AJGA participants from a year ago, Nicholas Reach, Jason Roets and Monifa Sealy are just three of Gilchrist’s students who have moved through the elite junior circuit. Sealy and Roets swept the boys and girls titles at the 2010 AJGA Puerto Rico Open last year and all three have moved on playing golf as college freshmen. Reach now attends the University of Georgia, Roets the University of North Texas and Sealy the University of Central Florida.

Eight Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy students from the GGGA full-time junior program will participate in this year’s 78-player field. 2010 FCWT Boy’s Player of the Year Luis Enriquez joins fellow GGGA students Rafael Barnoya, Alejandro Lopez, Santiago Lopez, Matthew Marquez, Camilo Mexsen, Johan Werge and Mai Dechathipat.
