Gary Gilchrist named to Golf Digest 50 Best Teachers in America 2013-2014

Gary Gilchrist was named to Golf Digest’s 50 Best Teachers in America for 2013-2014 for the second consecutive time.

Gary Gilchrist cracked the Golf Digest 50 Best Teachers in America for the first time in the magazine’s November 2011 issue and was also named to Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers list for 2012-2013.

“It’s a great honor to be named again amongst the game’s great coaches,” Gilchrist said. “The accomplishment means a lot to me. Congrats to all the other coaches as well. I appreciate everyone’s support.”

Over the last several years, Gilchrist has become an elite name among the world’s top coaches. In just two years time, Gilchrist helped Yani Tseng ascend to No. 1 in the world and Shanshan Feng to No. 3 in the world.

Gilchrist coached Tseng to four majors and 20 worldwide wins. Feng, who won the inaugural Reignwood LPGA Classic this past week and has worked with Gilchrist since she was a junior, rose as high No. 3 in the world in 2012 while Tseng was still at No. 1. Feng has amassed nine wins since 2011 with one major: the 2012 Wegmans LPGA Championship.

Other professionals Gilchrist coaches include Morgan Hoffmann, Sandra Gal, Peter Hedblom, Karen Stupples and Maria Hjorth.

But Gilchrist isn’t only known for his work with the pros, he’s helped countless juniors make huge strides with their games with his signature holistic philosophy at his name-sake academy that incorporates golf, fitness and mental training.

At the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, the goal remains as when Gilchrist founded the company in 2008: provide the best junior golf academy environment that allows junior golfers to reach their true potential in golf and in life.

In addition to the junior golf program with summer golf camps and winter golf camps, the academy also has a commitment to excellence with programs and training for professionals, amateurs and adults looking to discover the true potential of their golf game.

The learn, prepare, perform model is the foundation of the golf program and player development. The focus is on training that accelerates student development for optimal results in a short amount of time.

No matter the program, the holistic approach at the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy is what elevates each student to the best of their ability. GGGA doesn’t teach a swing method, but rather coach’s individuals by focusing on the 5 key areas of development: technical, mental, physical, strategy and personal, producing well rounded and balanced individuals.
