GGGA student Cordova wins Optimist Junior Tour at Barefoot Resort

GGGA student Luis Cordova delivered in solid form, winning the Optimist Junior Tour event at Barefoot as GGGA students took the top three spots on the leaderboard.

Cordova, of Mexico and a student in the Full-Time Junior Program, closed with a 1-under 71 Sunday to edge fellow GGGA student Manuel Torres by two and Andres Arango by four in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Torres, of Venezuela, closed with a 1-over 73 to finish second at +2 and Arango, of Colombia, took third at +4 after closing with a 1-under 71.

Nos. 16 and 18 were favorites for Cordova, as he birdied both in the first and second rounds. Cordova also added a birdie on 15 Sunday to close his back nine in 1-under 35.
