The Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy bolstered it’s coaching team in a big way for this coming fall, adding world-renowned coach Matt Fields, former Director of Golf for the International Junior Golf Academy.
Fields, a PGA member since 2001, has an impressive and expansive coaching career that extends for more than 20 years. He has worked alongside top junior coaches such as: Gary Gilchrist, Peter Krause, and Hank Haney and spent three years at IJGA with Gilchrist from 2004-2006.
“I am glad to be back with Gary and the GGGA team developing and training the best young athletes using Gary’s proven training system,” mentioned Fields, “It is an honor to be a part of the culture and development the GGGA has to offer. Train smarter, train harder, and train like a champion!”
Utilizing his vast level of knowledge of swing mechanics, Fields has taught over 30,000 lessons to hundreds of students nationally and internationally, and has traveled around the world to direct golf clinics that have benefited students and instructors from: India, Bolivia, Brazil, Taiwan, Mexico, Bermuda, Canada, and Puerto Rico just to name a few.
Fields has made several appearances on the Golf Channel as well on shows such as “The School of Golf” and “The Turn” and has contributed to Golf Digest and Golfweek Magazine on many occasions. Fields’ experience also extends beyond his technical coaching abilities as well with extensive golf technology experience with SAM Putting Lab, E Coach Pro Swing, JC Video, V1 and Trackman, and has developed training programs for professional players such as: Morgan Hoffmann, Shanshan Feng, and Stephanie Meadow.
