GGGA Full Time Student Alice Jo Named 2014 Rolex Junior All-American

GGGA full time student and 2014 U.S Women’s Amateur Public Links Winner, Alice Jo will join some elite company amongst the junior golf ranks.

Jo, 15 of China, will be honored as a Rolex Junior All-American at the AJGA’s Polo Junior Classic during the awards banquet held on November 23, 2014 at the PGA National Resort & Spa. The award commemorates Jo’s excellent golf play that started during the Polo Golf Junior Classic in 2013 and concluded with the Ping Invitational a few weeks prior.

Alice Jo, who is currently ranked no. 21 in the AJGA Polo Rankings, has been competing with the best over this past year and for her age. This includes her win at the 2014 U.S Women’s Amateur Public Links during her first attempt at the title, where she become the second-youngest winner of the tournament behind Michelle Wie, who won when she was 13 years old in 2003, who was also coached by Gilchrist as a junior during that time span. Over that time, she also posted a T2 at the Rolex Tournament of Champions, a 3rd place finish at the Ping Phoenix Junior as well as three top 20 finishes.

“I am very proud of her performance this year,” stated Gary Gilchrist. “I am excited to see how incredible a player Alice will become, since she is such a dedicated and determined junior player.”

Being nominated and participating in an AJGA Junior All-American has forged some of the best golfers in the world such as: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Stacy Lewis and current GGGA Pro Morgan Hoffmann.
