GGGA Student Pyae Thu Finishes Year With Championship Win

The IMG Tour Championship presented by Visit Citrus County, Florida at Black Diamond Ranch began with perfect golfing weather. Black Diamond Ranch was no walk in the park for our Junior Golfers as they embarked on a weekend long tournament competing against 70 Juniors vying for a Championship win. They were met with numerous sand traps, waste bunkers, and water hazards with dramatic elevation changes of over 100 feet. However, for one, Pyae Thu of Myanmar, 2018, the course was no match. Thu pulled through the two day tournament, taking the title of the boys 11-14 division by six shots. Thu finished his tournament play with +4 with 148 total. Thu dropped -6 his second round, securing his lead of the boys division. This isn’t the first big place for Thu. He recently placed 3rd two weeks ago in the IMG Falcon’s Fire Golf Club.
