Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy students took the field at Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando over the 2017 Labor Day weekend, September 2-4, to compete for three days in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour 54-Hole Challenge!
Congratulations to our Full-Time Training Program students for playing like champions on this hot holiday weekend! In Full-Time training, Champion wins are recognized as part of the Red Hat tradition. Tiffany Arafi (2018) from Birsfelden, Switzerland was awarded on the GGGA range for placing 1st in the Girls 14-18 division at the HJGT tournament!

“I was enjoying getting to play again. It had been awhile since I was able to compete.” says Tiffany, “I wasn’t nervous to play but it was still really nice to have a coach with me throughout the entire tournament… This win is a nice start to the season!”
The coaches at GGGA are what sets us apart from other golf academies. The coaching staff at GGGA is invested in their junior golfers, providing guidance every step of the way, from the first tee. The passion for golf and the art of coaching is what fuels the individualized plans for improvement for each junior golfer.

Tiffany is coached by Senior Golf Coach Matt Fields, an expert at coaching junior golfers with over 21 years of experience. “We had one week to prepare, so we focused on what they needed most: bunker, putting and some pre-shot routine.” said Coach Matt Fields, “We didn’t want to change a lot (for the students), but provide the opportunity for them to be prepared to compete.”

In addition to this championship win, GGGA had many top finishers including Zubin Chandra (2) and Alexandre Liu (3) in the Boys 16-18, Kenneth Thu (2) and Gabe Restrepo (3) in the Boys 14-15, and Anika Veintemilla (3) in the Girls 14-18!
