Meet Ahra Ko from Matthews, North Carolina! She has been golfing for 5 years and has been training with Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy in the Full-Time Program for 2 years. When Ahra isn’t golfing she enjoys baking, watching movies and shopping! Ahra just signed with Northern Illinois University!
Who is your favorite golfer? Alison Lee
Why are you signing with Northern Illinois? I loved the coaches at NIU, the faculties were great and had the major I want to study.
What are you looking forward to most about being a Husky? Playing golf everyday with a group of girls that I know will help me improve everyday and growing a relationship with them.
What does the opportunity to play college golf mean to you? Playing college golf means world to me because I will be able to pursue one of my biggest goals which was to play division 1 golf.
Who has had the biggest impact in getting you where you are today? My family, friends and coaches.
What is your favorite thing about GGGA? My favorite thing about GGGA was that I was able to meet people from all over the country and meeting one of my best friends today!
What impact has GGGA had in getting you where you are today? GGGA helped me learn how to manage my time from being able to play golf, working out, studying and still be able to have free time to hang out with friends.
What are you most proud of? Being able to accomplish all the goals I have set from the beginning of the year, which was to lower my tournament score average and commit to a Division 1 University.
What advice do you have for future signees? Be patient your perfect match will come. When communicating with the coaches always be honest and know what you’re looking for.
Ahra was part of the GGGA Full-Time Junior Golf Program. Juniors attend the Full-Time Junior Program at the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy because they want to be the best,train with the best, and be around other juniors to push them to new heights.
