FCWT Disney Open
The Future Collegians World Tour was held October 28-29, 2017 at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista. It was a great weekend of tournament play as some students entered into their first tournaments as GGGA students and others were grinding for the winners circle. It was an incredibly close game at the end, as two players were grasping the winner’s trophy but came up just short.
In the Boy’s 16-18 division, Junfan “Kerry” Wang had an impressive tournament. His first round 71 (1-under par round) placed him just 2 strokes back of the leader. Heading into round 2, Junfan carded a very impressive round in extremely tough conditions to shoot the second rounds best score, but unfortunately the 1st round leader matched his Sunday performance. However, for Junfan his great round leaped him into a second place finish and pumped him full of confidence as he prepares for The Optimist Tournament in the middle of November at PGA National!
In the Boys 12-14 division, Te-Lun “Jason” Hsu had a very impressive tournament. Jason led after round 1 and entered the final round with some strong competition fighting for the first place spot. As the second round completed, Jason found himself in a tie for first and a playoff with one other competitor. After one playoff hole, Jason came short of the winner’s circle and finished in solo second.
IMG North Shore
On Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22nd, GGGA students played the IMG Junior Golf Tour at North Shore Golf Course in Orlando, Florida. GGGA Full-Time Student Zubin Chandra came in 2nd place in the Boys 15-18 Division.
