Gary Gilchrist Readying LPGA Professionals At Mission Inn Resort For LPGA CME Group Tour Championship

The Race To The CME Globe has a stop for some of LPGA’s best at Mission Inn Resort where the Golf Professionals will prepare with their Coach Gary Gilchrist at the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy (GGGA) facilities. These Professionals are record breaking, Olympic medal-winning, consistently successful golf stars that come from all over the world to train with Gary Gilchrist.

These players have elected to use this second week in November as a recovery week. Many of these LPGA Professional Golfers have spent over a month in Asia at tournaments held in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Japan. TOTO Japan Classic is the final tournament of the Asian leg before the ladies head back to the Americas. The season ending final tournament in Naples, Florida is the CME Tour Championship where the season-long points competition that awards a player points for based upon their performance at every official LPGA Tournament. The LPGA CME Group Tour Championship marks the end of the LPGA season and winning player will be named “Race To The CME Globe” Champion.

Gary Gilchrist’s has an impressive track record with LPGA professionals accumulating over 7  majors and numerous tournament wins.  During this pre-competition week, five of the LPGA’s top professionals will be at Mission Inn to prepare themselves technically: ShanShan Feng, Ariya Jutanugarn, Moriya Jutanugarn, Paula Creamer and Yani Tseng will be the powerhouse of talent that will visit Mission Inn Resort this early November 2016 to prepare with Gary Gilchrist.

“This week’s training will be about preparation and building confidence.” says Coach Gary Gilchrist. “We are making sure every area of the professional’s game is consistent so they are ready to play and perform for the last season’s tournament.” GGGA has created a short game training area at Mission Inn Resort designed to prepare these professional golfers for high level performance in addition to providing the highest quality facilities for the junior golfers boarding with GGGA.

ShanShan Feng, Olympic Bronze Medalist, and winner of two majors and nine total tournaments is the first player from China to become a member of the LPGA and has been working with Gary Gilchrist since she was a junior. ShanShan recently brought in the 2016 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia title, and is currently 8th in the Rolex world rankings.

Ariya Jutanugarn, winner of the 2016 LPGA British Open securing her first Major win of her young career. Climbing to 2nd in the world in the Rolex world rankings in a short 7 month span, Ariya has had a spectacular year since starting to train with Gary. She has gone on to capture her first three wins and make history as the first golfer, male or female, from Thailand to win a major championship.  Ariya is currently ranked first  in “The Race To The CME Globe” for the 2016 season and also in first place to win the 2016 Rolex Player of the Year award.

Paula Creamer, boasting ten wins with one major, is always a crowd favorite with her passion and dedication to the game of golf. Paula has been training with Gary all season, and is no stranger to the Mission Inn course. Gary says that “Paula loves to practice around the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy (GGGA) students because it creates a competitive environment that inspires her to improve. She enjoys the training facilities at GGGA because it gives her the ability to re-create every possible situation that might arise in actual tournament play.”

“He’s (Gary Gilchrist) awesome at what he does. He’s a great coach. He makes it a lot of a fun.” says Paula, “The team that he has there (at GGGA) takes really great care of me and helps motivate me.”

Moriya Jutanugarn, the first female to win the British Junior Open, has been training with Gary since January of this year. She was the LPGA’s Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year three seasons ago.

Yani Tseng, with an impressive 15 LPGA tour wins alone, including 5 Majors has recently returned to Gary for coaching. Yani is the youngest player ever to win five major championships and was ranked number 1 in the Women’s World Golf Rankings for 109 consecutive weeks.
