Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Merges

We’re proud to announce a merger between the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy and the Bishops Gate Golf Academy. Gary Gilchrist has created an indelible legacy as a golf instructor over the past 25 years. With accolades such as Golf Digest’s Top 50 Teachers in America and Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers in America, it’s unmistakable how much good Gary has done for the golf instructing industry. 

Gary’s greatest teaching achievement to date, the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, was founded in 2008 by Gary Gilchrist and Andrew Summers. The Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy quickly became one of the most prominent independent junior golf academies in the world.

Bishops Gate and the International Junior Golf Academy

In 2014, Andrew would go on to found Bishops Gate Golf Academy and the International Junior Golf Academy at Hilton Head. Using his considerable business acumen, Andrew grew BGGA and IJGA, investing in resources to give them some of the best training facilities in the world. The campus features a 9-hole course with double greens and tees, student housing, and dining facilities. The campus was created with the express purpose of developing the golf skills of promising junior athletes, and in these aspects, it has been very successful.

The Best Partnership in Junior Golf

Now, Gary and Andrew have partnered again to create the best junior golf coaching and training program yet. The merger between Bishops Gate and GGGA resulted in a single junior golf academy, which will be located on the Bishops Gate campus. This will be rebranded as IJGA Bishops Gate, where Gary will be Director of Golf. British PGA Master Professional Jonathan Yarwood will be Director of Golf at IJGA, Hilton Head Island. Jonathan is also a world-renowned golf instructor, being named one of the Top 100 Teachers in South Carolina and featured in Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers in America.

As these programs continue to grow here in the USA, Gary and Andrew are looking to expand globally as well. With affiliates already established in Mexico and China, this partnership is set to take their business model worldwide, becoming the best junior golf academy in the world.
